COVID-19 Safety Measures
For the first time in its more than 100 years of camping ministry, The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory had to make the decision to cancel its 2020 summer residential camping program due to COVID-19.
The Salvation Army’s number one priority is the safety and security of our campers, staff, leaders and guests, and it is in this spirit that the decision was made. We respect and support the tireless work and decisions of our Government leaders and Public Health authorities. As a result, this decision was made in keeping with Canadian Government Requirements and Public Health rules and guidelines.
We understand that camp is an important part of summer for Salvationists, campers, staff, leaders and guests, and that many look forward to it all year. However, due to COVID-19, we are required to live and work with social distancing as the new normal, and we know this is the appropriate decision for our current reality.
Ontario Camping Ministries misses you all and know that we continue to pray for camp staff, campers, their families and guests during these days. We look forward to seeing you at camp again in 2021.
Thank you for your understanding and we pray that you stay safe and remain healthy!
