Why choose OCM?

We give the camp experience to kids who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend camp.

We are one of the best paying overnight camps in Ontario.

You make long lasting friendships with the staff and get to come back in January for a reunion.

You are given the opportunity to share your faith daily with campers while surrounded by your peers who love Jesus.

We have a mid-summer weekend called Oasis where both Jackson’s Point & Newport staff can come together for a retreat.

Every Sunday evening we gather as a staff to worship and set ourselves up for a great week. There are also fun nights planned throughout the summer to spend time with other staff.

FAQ

How long do we work at camp for?

Most summer staff work for 8 weeks in July & August. We have one week of staff orientation followed by 7 weeks of camp. Some of our positions include Soul Crew which means the position begins in May.

Can we go home on the weekend?

Yes, the majority of our camps run M-F so you have the weekend off. You are welcome to stay at camp or go home and return Sunday evening.

What’s the best thing about working at camp?

The community is unmatched. You get to spend a summer with people who become like family as you share the gospel with campers together & participate in fun events. Spending your summer outdoors is a bonus.

What are the accommodations like?

Staff stay in bunk/single beds in cabins. Lodging differs between sites but they all have electricity and some have wifi. Laundry facilities are available in a seperate building. Showers will either be in your cabin or a seperate building.

"I enjoy working at camp because within this faith building environment, the staff and campers are always amazing to interact with. Whether it be great conversations or fun activities, every year is filled with fun and emotional times that i wouldnt trade for anything."

My role was Head Cabin Leader at Blaze. My favourite part of working at camp is getting to teach the campers all about Jesus’ love for them, and watching them excitedly sign the commitment banner at the end of each week and invite Jesus into their hearts!

Brooke Slous
Head Cabin Leader

I enjoy working at camp because it allows us to connect with so many different amazing people and build lasting community with them that stretches even beyond the few months I get to spend working with them. Some of the closest friendships I’ve ever known have been fostered at these camps and I’ll always be grateful for the time I’ve spent with them at these places.
